Vegetable Medley

This probiotic food will provide you with vegetables and beverage to drink. The main purpose of the vegetable medley is to drink the liquid, so make sure the ingredients you add only fill the jar half way. This will create enough liquid for you to drink. The brine from this medley is an excellent remedy for any tummy upset, sore gums and sore throat.




  • 1/4 cabbage, roughly cut

  • 2 carrots, chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled

  • 1 tbsp dill

  • 1 tbsp. salt

  • 1 cup whey

  • water to top up

  1. Put cabbage, carrot, garlic and dill in a glass bowl.

  2. Add salt, whey and top up with water until the bowl is full.

  3. Put a small plate on the top of the brine to keep the vegetables completely submerged in the brine.

  4. If the vegetables are dry at the top they will get mouldy.

  5. Leave to ferment for 1-2 weeks.



When the brine and vegetables start getting low, add more veggies, salt, top up with water and ferment at the room temperature again. You can add any veggies you like and you can have this vegetables medley going forever, as long as you keep feeding it with more fresh veggies.
